Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih partially destroys nine-story apartment block

The Russian army launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk Region (Oblast) of Ukraine on the morning of July 31, according to reports by multiple local Telegram channels. Judging by the published photos, one of the missiles hit a nine-story residential building.

Update: According to a report by the head of Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS) Serhiy Kruk, the strike resulted in 4 confirmed fatalities and 44 injuries. Three people — including a child born in 2013 — were rescued from under the rubble. Rescue operations are currently underway at the scene of the attack.

The attack on Kryvyi Rih was confirmed by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Civil-Military Administration Serhiy Lysak, as well as Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On the night of July 31, Russia also struck Kharkiv’s Novobavarsky District. According to a report by Kharkiv Region police chief Volodymyr Tymoshko, one person was wounded as a result of the attack.

According to Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin, Russian forces also shelled the city of Kherson with Grad multiple rocket launchers, resulting in one person being killed and two others wounded.
