The Russian Defense Ministry commented on this morning's drone attack on Moscow, accusing Kyiv of terrorism. The Insider quotes the MoD’s statement in full:

This morning, the Kyiv regime launched a terrorist drone attack on targets in the city of Moscow.
The attack involved eight fixed-wing drones. All enemy UAVs were destroyed.
Three of them were suppressed by electronic warfare, lost control and deviated from their intended targets.
Another five drones were shot down by the Pantsir-S surface-to-air missile system in the Moscow region.

Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said on The Breakfast Show, a YouTube program hosted by journalists Alexander Plushchev and Tatiana Felgengauer:

Perhaps not all drones are ready to attack Ukraine and are coming back to their creators to ask, 'Why are you sending us to attack civilians?'

Podolyak also noted that Ukraine “enjoyed watching” and predicted an increase in the number of attacks, adding that Kyiv “of course has nothing to do with them.”

Earlier, Telegram channel Baza reported that more than 20 drones could have been involved in the attack on Moscow. According to the Telegram channel Shot, over 30 UAVs took part in the attack.

Alexey Rogozin (the son of former Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin), the head of the “Center for Transport Technologies Development,” claimed that previously unknown fixed-wing drones were used in the attack:

“The [drone’s] power is drawn from an internal combustion engine, a wingspan of at least 4 meters and a theoretical range of 400 to 1000 km. The cost can be estimated in the amount of $30-200 thousand for each machine.”

At least three drones crashed into residential buildings, with one of them carrying explosive devices which did not detonate.

The emergency services told RIA Novosti that in Moscow one UAV hit a house on Profsoyuznaya Street, 98, and another hit a 24-story apartment building on Atlasova Street in Novaya Moskva [“New Moscow”]. In Profsoyuznaya Street, the drone crashed into the upper floors of a building, the facade and windows were destroyed, residents of three blocks are evacuated. On Atlasova Street, the facade and the glazing of the upper floors of the building were also destroyed [as a result of a drone strike]. Also, a drone flew into house 92, building 1 on Leninsky Avenue.
