The UK government has announced new sanctions against Russian individuals and companies linked to the invasion of Ukraine. Fifteen new items were added to the UK’s sanctions list, the country's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced. Among others, the list included Svetlana Krivonogikh, who, as revealed by investigative publication Proekt, is Vladimir Putin's former mistress and a shareholder of the Rossiya Bank and the National Media Group.
“Today’s sanctions target organisations that Putin’s military relies on to maintain its illegal invasion of Ukraine,” read the press release published by the FCDO. Among them are:
- CST, a manufacturer of Russian drones which have been used to destroy Ukrainian combat vehicles
- RT-Komplekt, that produces parts for helicopters used by Russia in its assault on Ukraine
- Oboronlogistics, that organises the transportation and delivery for Russian military equipment
- Universalmash and Lipetsk, that manufactures or modifies the tracked chassis for anti-aircraft missile systems used by Russia’s armed forces in Ukraine
- Topaz, a software company involved in military aviation
The package also includes 5 individuals connected to Putin's luxury residences, including Putin's 100-billion-rouble “palace” and lakeside dacha:
- Boris Titov: Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneur’s Rights, which he was awarded after purchasing 740 acres of vineyards on the grounds of the palace
- Nikolay Egorov: until recently, Deputy Chairman of the largest privately owned oil refinery in Russia, lawyer and former classmate of Vladimir Putin
- Sergey Rudnov: owner of pro-Kremlin news outlet Regnum, son of Oleg Rudnov, Putin's personal friend
- Svetlana Krivonogikh: a shareholder in Bank Rossiya and the National Media Group, that consistently promotes the Russian assault in Ukraine (Vladimir Putin’s former mistress, whose daughter bears a phenomenal resemblance to the Russian president, as outlined by Proekt)
- Viktor Myachin: owner of Aerostart, a Russian aircraft maintenance and repair company
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Britain has imposed sanctions on over 1,300 individuals and entities linked to the invasion.
