Russia to restrict entry for citizens of “unfriendly” nations

Illustration

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced an upcoming decree restricting entry into Russia for citizens of countries considered “unfriendly”. The statement was made at a United Russia party convention on international cooperation and support for Russian nationals abroad.

«A draft presidential decree is being developed on retaliatory visa measures in response to the unfriendly actions of a number of foreign states. This act will introduce a number of restrictions on entry into Russia,” said the foreign minister.

Sergey Lavrov also emphasized that Russia had simplified the procedure of entry and residence for third-country nationals and stateless persons who are looking to leave Ukraine “to prevent threats to their life and health”.
