As a result of a Russian missile strike on the Shevchenkivskyi District in Kyiv, eight civilians have been killed and 24 more wounded, informs Rostyslav Smirnov, the Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs.
Anton Herashchenko, an official advisor at the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported five casualties earlier.
According to Smirnov, six cars caught fire, and 15 sustained damage.
In all, Kyiv residents have reported three powerful blasts across the city. One of the missiles hit a children's playground in Taras Shevchenko Park in downtown Kyiv.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachnenko reported damage to the Philharmonic Hall and the Khanenko and the Shevchenko museums.
On October 10, Russian missiles also hit Dnipro, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Kharkiv, Rivne, Vinnytsia, and Ivano-Frankivsk, killing and wounding more civilians. The overall death toll is yet to be disclosed.
