An explosion at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid has lightly injured an employee, according to a Europa Press report citing police sources.
The victim reached the hospital on his own and has already received medical treatment.
El Confidencial wrote that the explosive device was in an envelope handed to the embassy. The bomb detonated when the employee attempted to open it.
“The national police are already investigating the facts with the criminal police and the regional information team,” the police said in a statement.
Tedax bomb disposal units and dog handlers have arrived on the scene and began securing the embassy grounds.
