Three foreign mercenaries who fought in the war against Russia in the territory of the so-called DPR and LPR have been given the death penalty, RIA Novosti writes with a reference to the agency posing as the DPR’s “supreme court”.
British nationals Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner and a Moroccan citizen Ibrahim Saadun have been sentenced to execution.
As Interfax reports, they have been found guilty of mercenarism and “committing acts aimed at seizing power and toppling the constitutional order of the DPR”. Tribunal president Alexander Nikulin insisted that the verdict had been guided “not only by legislative norms and rules but also by the core, sacrosanct principle of justice”.
Previously, the UK pledged to repeal the possible conviction.
