Yuri Zhdanov, the father of the director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), Ivan Zhdanov, has been placed in a special housing unit (SHU) within the penal colony. This was reported by Ivan Zhdanov himself. Earlier, he revealed that a razor blade had been planted in his father's pillowcase. Yuri Zhdanov found it and threw it away, but afterwards, the conditions of his detention in the colony were tightened.
“Now there will be fewer opportunities to make phone calls, fewer food parcels, and possibly fewer opportunities to buy groceries,” Ivan Zhdanov said. Shortly after, he reported that his father had been sent to the SHU. The duration and the grounds for the punishment were not specified by Zhdanov.
Yuri Zhdanov was formally convicted of fraud: he recommended that the head of a settlement allocate an apartment to a local resident under a social rental agreement, but it later became known that the family had already received a housing subsidy. Yuri Zhdanov did not admit guilt and insisted that his persecution was related to his son's activities.
